This is a versatile voice recorder that can be used with an app. Not only can it function as a regular voice recorder for meetings, interviews, and classes, but it can also attach to the back of your phone to record phone calls. Once the recordings are uploaded to the app, you can use AI features such as transcription, summarisation, and even generate mind maps, greatly enhancing your efficiency in work and study.

Call Recording

The voice recorder is designed to work independently while recording, meaning it does not require a connection to the companion app during the recording process. Once the recording is complete, simply turn on the wireless switch on the recorder to connect it with the app and transfer the audio files from the recorder to the app.

AI Voice Recorder

You can retrieve your recorded audio files in two ways:

Using a USB Cable: Connect the voice recorder directly to your PC via a USB cable to transfer the recording files to your computer. Please note, however, that we do not provide AI transcription services on the PC. This method is solely for transferring audio files from the recorder to the PC.
Using the Companion App: Download the FoCase Rec app from the App Store or Google Play. After recording, turn on the wireless switch on the recorder and connect it to the app. Through the app, you can wirelessly transfer the audio files from the recorder to your phone. Once the files are in the app, you can use features such as voice-to-text transcription, AI-generated summaries, Mind Map creation, file sharing, renaming, and more

My Take on This Device After a Month of UseI’ve been using this device for over a month, and it’s been a game-changer for keeping all my phone calls and meeting transcriptions organised. Here’s what I think:What I LoveVersatility:Great for recording meetings, phone calls, or casual chats where I need to capture key details.It’s become a daily essential for me. 1,800 monthly minutes of transcription is much more than the competition.Ease of Use:The magnetic attachment allowing me to connect directly to my Nothing phone case is super convenient. It’s compact and lightweight, so it’s easy to carry around without noticing it. The recording quality has so far been excellent. The audio recording, transcription text and formatted summaries can all be shared to other apps like mail, cloud storage, Microsoft Word, WhatsApp etc.Hidden Features:Beyond the basic summaries, I found that you can export transcriptions to other apps (like ChatGPT). This opens up endless options for refining notes, brainstorming, or creating personalised content.Tech Support:I had an issue backing up files to my computer using the supplied data cable, so I contacted their tech support by email. As a health professional, I’ve been using a dictaphone from the time of the horse and cart and my subsequent battles with tapes in these were legendary. Enter the FOCASE AI recorder and this has been a complete game changer. Easy-to-use out-of-the-box without any pfaf and it pretty much hits the ground running from the first moment. The transcription is intuitive and the quality of output is excellent. There are heavily promoted items on the market right now and which are much pricier and which also comes with hidden subscriptions which locks one in. With this device, one gets a generous 1.8k minutes pm allowance which should be sufficient for average individual and, even if one has to take out a subscription, it is relatively inexpensive. As for the device itself, it’s well made, eminently portable and pocketable and extremely easy to use even for someone who may not be tech savvy. Such is my confidence with this that I have bought three of them for use by colleagues. In short, look no further, this recorder is understated but highly rated and is most definitely very much recommended.

The… audio quality is… decent. It picks up voices clearly, even in a… large room. The… AI transcription feature is… interesting. It’s surprisingly… accurate, although it does make the occasional… mistake. It’s a good starting point for… transcribing recordings. The… summarization feature is also useful. It gives a… concise overview of the recording. The app is… easy to use. Overall, it’s a useful device.
