Compact recorder with fast syncing and thoughtful design
With its elegant design and small silhouette, this voice recorder is the one to get. The packaging it comes packed in is premium and optimal as soon as you open the box. The included case is well made and everything from the magnetic pin to the clip has a neat, fresh look. Though it doesn’t include the wristband accessory, this version has a clip and magnet system that is quite effective. And the strongest magnet secures it to your clothing—just snap the recorder on the front side, and the magnet on the back of your shirt will hold it in place. It feels subtle and featherweight once it’s on.Voice capture recording quality is decent. It’s not up to the standard of a professional audio product, but it has clear performance for lectures and presentations. Even better: The device produces a single buzz when it starts recording and a double buzz when it stops. That said, the button itself is a little difficult to press, particularly when it’s clipped to clothing. There’s a tiny red light, too, which indicates that it’s recording, but it’s difficult to spot when you’re wearing it.The company says the battery life is more than 10 hours, and that feels about right, based on average use. I haven’t experienced any problem with battery drain after a full day of meetings or class. But I did find that if in a pocket the pressure might accidentally activate it. The button is a bit sensitive and may start recording without you knowing, so make sure you keep it in a place it won’t be bumped when stored.Recordings sync to the app really, really quickly. Files transfer is nearly instant, and everything is organized by date and time. There is rudimentary transcription available and it does ok for voice to text in a quiet environment. This makes it a useful device for students to record a lecture or professionals needing to document feedback or discussions. The app also has a number of premium features, such as live transcription and visual summaries, but access to those features costs by subscription that’s somewhat on the pricey side — over $200. It isn’t necessary for the device to function, so if what you need is dependable recording along with simple playback, you can stick with the free ones. Other alternatives to summary generation, such as uploading files to external services may be more appropriate for someone on a budget though. In terms of build, the recorder is somewhere between a premium gadget and a regular, no-nonsense everyday tool. The haptic feedback is tight, like you’d expect from a premium smartphone. Call recording isn’t supported clearly, but then this is definitely a voice capture device aimed at live capture of voice such as lectures, interviews and presentations. For the price it offers, everything I’d hoped – solid construction, clear voice quality, rapid transfers, good integration with apps – believe the product when they describe it has rapid and accurate. It’s not inexpensive, but if you don’t get locked into the subscription features, the basic experience is still very good.

Compact and clear
This recorder is pretty small, so small there’s no actual power button, you just have to squeeze a certain area on it to activate it, even though the instructions continually refer to a “power button”. Pairing was fairly easy, once you landed on the right part of the device. I got the light purple one, it’s my favorite color, the main attraction here is the clarity of the recording. It picks up everything! Then you can go into the downloaded app to review or delete the recordings. I just received it, so I’m still exploring all of the wonderful functions that comes with it, bit so far, I’m impressed. It’s a great investment if this is something you will use daily. It came with a clip, you put it on your lapel or pocket, you don’t know it’s there and it still picks up/records with no interruptions.

Great little device with many uses
Updated 2nd time, 5/25/25: Forget anything bad I ever said about this product. The company noticed my update below and contacted me to give me personalized support. And went to some effort in the process because my manufacturer account doesn’t allow sellers to email me. They were attentive and generous with their time, and we did end up determining that my original was faulty. They sent me a replacement, and now that I have one that works reliably, I am incredibly impressed. The recording quality is excellent but the AI is where it really pays off because it automatically finds next steps, meeting outlines, mind maps, or however else you want the information managed. And the transcriptions, while sometimes a little off-base, are generally better than I have ever encountered in other devices. I love this little thing and plan to always have it nearby. If you’re on the fence, you won’t regret this purchase either in performance or in the service you receive.Updated 5/2/25: I used it a few times, loved it, and wrote the review you see below. Then I took it to an important meeting two days ago and I couldn’t get it to turn on, even though it is fully charged. I was not able to get my meeting recording, so that is failure number one. What is the point of an item like this if you can’t trust it to work? The next day — yesterday morning — I spent some time trying to figure out what went wrong. Followed all the instructions I have, and eventually sent an email to support (per the instructions). Not helpful. I can not currently recommend anyone buy one of these for that reason.=======I would have loved to give this 4.5 stars, but since I can’t, I deferred to the higher score. This is the handiest little thing and I am thrilled with the quality of transcription it provides. Transcription software is easy enough to find, but there are widely varying levels of quality. This one is very good, and I suspect the AI element will help it get better over time.I like that it comes with two different kinds of attachments, which are interchangeable by magnetized sides. If you put one back on, there is a lapel clip, if you use the other back you can put one side inside your shirt and the magnet will hold the recording part on the outside. As small and reasonably attractive as it is though, it’s not discreet. It’s impressively small for what it does, but way too big to not be noticed as something unusual. The reason I was hesitating on the score is that I found the required subscription that comes with it to be expensive. You get one free week to try it out, after that you have a choice of two plans. The unlimited plan is $240 a year, and other than unlimited minutes the only feature it has that the less expensive plan doesn’t is an “industry glossary.” Since I don’t know what that is, I’m guessing I don’t need it.The next plan down is the “Pro” plan, and that one comes with 1200 minutes a month. I think 20 hours a month of recording and transcription is probably enough for most people, and that one is $80 a month with an option to add more minutes if you need them from time to time but not always. There is a “starter” plan with 300 minutes a month a few built-in features, and I want to assume since no price is listed that it’s free — but never assume. And it’s not really clear how to choose that plan, the software only gives you easily identifiable access to the paid plans. And it could be that 300 minutes is your cap on the 7-day free trial period rather than a plan. Honestly at that point you probably don’t need a dedicated device for this sort of thing anyway. All that said, it’s very well built for solid transcriptions, and it has decent summarizing and mind mapping features. If this is the kind of device you would find useful to have, it’s a solid choice. It’s just not a frugal one.
